Plus qu’un h\u00f4tel de ville : une \u0153uvre d’art !<\/strong><\/p>

Le premier h\u00f4tel de ville est d\u00e9truit en mai 1940 comme pr\u00e8s de 90% du centre-ville de Maubeuge. Cela contraint les autorit\u00e9s \u00e0 d\u00e9placer les diff\u00e9rents services de la mairie au sein de divers b\u00e2timents provisoires. En 1941, une mairie provisoire est install\u00e9e sur le terrain de\u00a0 l’ancien v\u00e9lodrome (actuellement l’h\u00f4tel de police).
En 1966, Andr\u00e9 Lur\u00e7at, architecte en chef de la Reconstruction \u00e0 Maubeuge, propose un projet de construction d’un nouvel h\u00f4tel de ville. R\u00e9pondant aux caract\u00e9ristiques modernistes, ce projet est rejet\u00e9. L’h\u00f4tel de ville actuel est finalement le r\u00e9sultat de l’association de deux architectes, Andr\u00e9 Gaillard et Jacques Corbeau, et du plasticien Victor Vasarely. Il s’agit alors du dernier immeuble sinistr\u00e9 reconstruit de Maubeuge. L’h\u00f4tel de Ville pr\u00e9sente une g\u00e9om\u00e9trie <\/span>inattendue. L’immeuble de 8 \u00e9tages poss\u00e8de la particularit\u00e9 de pr\u00e9senter sur sa\u00a0<\/span>fa\u00e7ade des d\u00e9cors cr\u00e9\u00e9s par l’artiste Vasarely. Son travail tend \u00e0 animer les <\/span>surfaces en jouant avec des illusions d’optique.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Le b\u00e2timent quant \u00e0 lui s’\u00e9tire sur la hauteur, en formant de multiples parall\u00e9l\u00e9pip\u00e8des rectangles. L’h\u00f4tel de Ville se confronte aux cubes r\u00e9alis\u00e9s par Vasarely en fa\u00e7ade, permettant d’insuffler un v\u00e9ritable dynamisme \u00e0 l’\u00e9difice.\u00a0<\/p>

Jacques Fernand Corbeau<\/b> est un architecte fran\u00e7ais n\u00e9 \u00e0 Hautmont le 4 janvier 1930 et d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e0 Pont-Audemer le 25 septembre 2017.
El\u00e8ve de Roger-Henri Expert, il est admis \u00e0 l’Ecole des beaux-arts de Paris en 1951. Il en sort dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 en 1962.

Andr\u00e9 Gaillard<\/b>, n\u00e9 le 22 octobre 1921 et mort le 13 novembre 2010, est un architecte suisse. Il int\u00e8gre l’Ecole d’architecture de l’universit\u00e9 genevoise.
V\u00e9ritable \u00ab\u00a0b\u00eate \u00e0 concours\u00a0\u00bb, il remporte 35 prix et distinctions. Il participe \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de nouvelles villes ou de stations baln\u00e9aires. Il est membre de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des architectes suisses, de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 suisse des ing\u00e9nieurs et des architectes (SIA) ainsi que du Congr\u00e8s international d’architecture moderne (CIAM).

Victor Vasarely<\/b>, n\u00e9 en 1906 et mort en 1997, est un plasticien hongrois, naturalis\u00e9 fran\u00e7ais. Il est reconnu comme \u00e9tant le p\u00e8re de l’art optique. Apr\u00e8s des \u00e9tudes de m\u00e9dicine, qu’il d\u00e9cide d’arr\u00eater au bout de deux ans, il s’int\u00e9resse \u00e0 l’art et plus particuli\u00e8rement au mouvement du Bauhaus. Il \u00e9tudie alors \u00e0 l’atelier de Sandor Bortnyik. Il poursuit son apprentissage dans l’atelier de Charles Henri Plas et d\u00e9bute comme artiste graphiste dans des agences publicitaires. C’est \u00e0 ce moment qu’il r\u00e9alise son premier travail majeur, Zebra<\/i>, consid\u00e9r\u00e9 aujourd’hui comme le premier travail dans le genre op art.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
