Il a expos\u00e9 dans une galerie d\u2019art \u00e0 Maubeuge en\u00a01938. C\u2019est \u00e0 cette occasion que Henri Bo\u00ebz a d\u00e9couvert son travail et lui a achet\u00e9 quelques \u0153uvres pour le mus\u00e9e de Maubeuge.<\/p>\n<p>Cette aquarelle est un portrait d\u2019une jeune fille nomade peinte lors d\u2019un des voyages de l\u2019artiste en Alg\u00e9rie. Une attention particuli\u00e8re a \u00e9t\u00e9 port\u00e9e \u00e0 la repr\u00e9sentation du visage de la jeune fille et notamment de son regard, port\u00e9 au loin. Tout dans ce portrait \u00e9voque l\u2019Orient : l\u2019habit traditionnel et les bijoux color\u00e9s, le foulard dans les cheveux, la c\u00e9ramique d\u00e9cor\u00e9e que la jeune fille tient devant elle, comme si elle avait \u00e9t\u00e9 peinte sur le vif.
