A ce petit jeu, il y en a qui se changent en statues de sel\u00a0\u00bb, Cocteau, <em>Orph\u00e9e<\/em>, 1926.<\/strong><\/p><p>Jean COCTEAU (1889 \u2013 1963) <br \/><em>Assiette \u00ab\u00a0Orph\u00e9e jardinier\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> <br \/>Pl\u00e2tre <br \/>29 cm (diam\u00e8tre)<br \/>Maubeuge, Mus\u00e9e Henri Bo\u00ebz<\/p><p>Jean Cocteau est \u00e9crivain et artiste. Auteur de plusieurs pi\u00e8ces de th\u00e9\u00e2tre, il a entre autres revisit\u00e9 le mythe d\u2019Orph\u00e9e en \u00e9crivant une pi\u00e8ce de th\u00e9\u00e2tre, <em>Orph\u00e9e<\/em> (1926). Inspir\u00e9 par ce mythe du musicien amoureux pr\u00eat \u00e0 braver les Enfers pour sauver sa bien-aim\u00e9e, personnage auquel il s\u2019identifie dans la pi\u00e8ce, il a \u00e9galement r\u00e9alis\u00e9 des dessins et des objets, comme cette assiette.<\/p><p>Ici, un visage semble \u00e9merger des plantes et nous fixer. Dans la pi\u00e8ce \u00e9crite par Cocteau, le miroir est central puisqu\u2019il constitue une porte vers les Enfers. On peut voir ici une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 ce miroir dans la sym\u00e9trie parfaite du motif, une moiti\u00e9 du visage \u00e9tant le reflet parfait de l\u2019autre. Les rares points de peinture permettent de souligner une bouche chantante, un nez, des yeux et une \u00e9toile, situ\u00e9e au sommet du visage. Cette \u00e9toile peut symboliser le g\u00e9nie cr\u00e9atif par exemple.<\/p><p>Mais cette \u0153uvre est-elle un portrait d\u2019Orph\u00e9e ? Ou un auto-portrait de l\u2019artiste ? La tragique histoire du po\u00e8te Orph\u00e9e, descendu aux Enfers pour retrouver son Eurydice et condamn\u00e9 \u00e0 chanter sa peine de l\u2019avoir perdue pour l\u2019\u00e9ternit\u00e9, a beaucoup inspir\u00e9 les artistes.
